Get an Event-in-a-Box

Don't have the resources to put together a Kick Butts Day event? An Event-in-a-Box is a great solution!

An Event-in-a-Box kit is exactly what it sounds like: ready-to-use materials shipped to you with directions on how to turn the box's contents into a great Kick Butts Day event!

Not unless you really need one. Because we have limited resources, we like to reserve our Events-in-a-Box for organizers who would otherwise not be able to host a Kick Butts Day event.

If you have already planned an event: Please do not apply for an Event-in-a-Box. We prefer to reserve them for organizers who would not otherwise be able to hold a Kick Butts Day event.

If you have already applied for a grant: You are not eligible to apply for an Event-in-a-Box. You may apply for either one or the other. Please read the description of each of these resources to see which best fits your needs.

If you have already applied for an Event-in-a-Box: You are not eligible to apply for a second kit.

If you live outside the U.S. (excluding U.S. military bases): At this time, you are not eligible apply for an Event-in-a-Box.

This year's Event-in-a-Box will focus on "Big Tobacco's Manipulation Lab." The activity concerns the latest products Big Tobacco is using to entice kids, including new types of cigars and smokeless tobacco.

The kit will include stencils, chalk, instructions, and stickers for the "Big Tobacco's Manipulation Lab" activity. (Note: These items will not be helpful unless you are doing this activity. Please do not request an Event-in-a-Box if you plan to do a different activity.)

Many tobacco products are shaped, packaged and flavored just like candy, but they're still addictive and harmful. The goal of this activity is to educate youth about Big Tobacco's manipulative ways, and how these companies continue to target new products to youth through colorful packaging and cheap prices.

Events in a box are suitable for middle school- and high school-aged youth. The kits contain enough materials for 30 participants and must be used in conjunction with a Kick Butts Day event.

You can only order one Event-in-a-Box for your group. If you are coordinating events for multiple groups, please have each event coordinator order one for their event site. If you have any questions about whether an Event-in-a-Box is right for your group, please contact kbdinfo@kickbuttsday.org.
