Are you an aspiring Mel Brooks, Steven Spielberg, George Lucas or Peter Jackson? Or are you a passionate advocate with a camera or microphone tired of Big Tobacco targeting kids?
Well we have a contest for you …
The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids invites you to enter an original video or radio public service announcement, (or PSA), in our national Kicking Butts on Film (…and Radio!) contest.
This is a great opportunity for youth to stand out, speak up, and seize control in the fight against tobacco.
So what are you waiting for? Grab a camera and get started.
What is a PSA?
A public service announcement (PSA) is a free advertisement broadcast on radio or television, promoting information for the public good. PSAs are intended to modify public attitudes by raising awareness about specific social issues. This year, we have expanded the PSA contest to include 30 second radio PSAs as well as video PSAs. Check out these tips on making a good PSA.
What’s in it for me?
We know you would do it for free, but fear not we have loot …
- Third Place Winner — The third place winner will receive a prize pack with KBD gear, a cash prize of $200 for his/her school/club and a certificate.
- Second Place Winner — The second place winner will receive a prize pack with KBD gear, a cash prize of $350 for his/her school/club and a certificate.
- Grand Prize — The grand prize winner will receive a prize pack with KBD gear, a cash prize of $500 for his/her school/club and a certificate.
In addition to cash prizes, all finalists will receive a Kick Butts Day Prize Pack and have their PSAs featured on the Campaign for Tobacco Free-Kids' YouTube channel.
