#NotAReplacement campaign featured in Chelsea Clinton’s book

Posted by Erica Olmstead on 18 Sep 2015

Last Kick Butts Day, thousands of event organizers around the world participated in 2014 National Youth Advocate of the Year Magi Linscott’s powerful #NotAReplacement campaign. We are pleased to share that Magi’s anti-tobacco advocacy work, including the #NotAReplacement campaign, is highlighted in Chelsea Clinton’s new book “It’s Your World: Get Informed, Get Inspired & Get Going.”

The book examines today’s biggest challenges and shares stories about young people who are bringing about real change in their communities, countries and the world. Appropriately, the book highlights the fight against tobacco – the No. 1 cause of preventable death. And we’re thrilled that it features the work of Magi.

The #NotAReplacement campaign empowered youth around across the United States and beyond to let Big Tobacco know that they are not replacements for the thousands of people tobacco products kill daily. Instead, they are artists, brothers, sisters, dancers, athletes and much more.

More than 3,500 #NotAReplacement selfies were created during the campaign, including selfies from U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy and Disney star Monique Coleman.

This year, we are ready to make an enormous impact once again. Will you join us on March 16th for Kick Butts Day 2016? Mark your calendars and get ready to stand out, speak up and seize control against Big Tobacco. Registration will open in November.

Make sure to follow Kick Butts Day on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and sign up for Kick Butts Day updates to stay in the loop.
