What is Taking Down Tobacco?
Taking Down Tobacco is a FREE comprehensive youth advocacy training program created by the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids in partnership with the CVS Health Foundation. This initiative educates and engages youth through free online and in-person training. It provides introductory training for youth new to the fight against tobacco and advanced training to help young leaders take their advocacy to the next level.
Sign up at www.takingdowntobacco.org, then complete Taking Down Tobacco 101 to get a crash course in the latest info basics about tobacco, including the dangers of cigarette smoking and other tobacco use, the many types of tobacco products and how they are marketed, and the proven solutions that can win the fight against tobacco.
Once you’ve completed the 101 course, you’ve got options: you can Become a Trainer and get the skills to train other youth and deliver the Taking Down Tobacco 101 course in your community, and/or you can complete our advanced skills trainings called the Core 4 focused on developing critical advocacy skills like creating effective messages for advocacy campaigns, working with the media, communicating with community leaders and elected officials, and creating impactful advocacy events.
