Posted by Kick Butts Day Team on 19 Nov 2013

The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids is pleased to announce the winners of this year’s Kicking Butts on Film (and Radio!) PSA Contest. We received numerous entries from around the country that stood out for their originality and loud, proud messages against Big Tobacco. The winners are:

1st place: “The Science behind a Cigarette” from Pine View School SWAT in Osprey, FL

2nd place: “Cigarette Dissection” from Lely High School SWAT in Naples, FL

3rd place: Tie Between “Why Smoke Free” from Lake Charles-Boston Academy of Learning AND “Send a Message to Big Tobacco” from A. M. Barbe High School, both in Lake Charles, LA

Honorable Mention: “It Starts with Me” from F.K. White Middle School SPARK – Lake Charles, LA

The first and second place PSA’s will be featured in an upcoming blog post on Tobacco Unfiltered (The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids’ official blog) as well as the Kick Butts Day website and our social media channels!

The PSA Contest was just one opportunity for youth to get involved in the fight against Big Tobacco. On March 19, 2014, hundreds of youth in every state and around the world will stand out, speak up and seize control against big tobacco on the 19th Annual Kick Butts Day! Get started with some activity ideas and be sure to register your event!
